On May 16 we did a protest in front of the cop station Nieuw West Zuid to demand justice for Sammy B who was murdered by cops from this station. We chanted and played a speech that was send to us by Sammy’s Mother to the cops. We were around 15 people/ No one got arrested
Yesterday the state prosecutor, Anne Marie Ruijs, decided that the cops who murdered Sammy B. will face no consequences for their crime. She ruled that they will not face any legal procedure at all. She has always ruled in favour of the police. Cops get away with murder again in the Netherlands. Despite all the lies of Amsterdam police as well as the overwhelming evidence showing that Sammy was murdered ( including a video that showed what happend). Sammy was a person of color that was having a mental breakdown/ psychosis. He was calling for a doctor and despite the fact that psychological help and his mother were at the scene, the police refused him this help. We protested in front of the Amsterdam Nieuw West Zuid police station (where the cops who murdered Sammy came from) to show solidarity with his parents and demand justice for Sammy And all victims of police violence! To fight against the systemic racism & ableism at the core of this system that allows cops to kill POCs and people with mental problems with impunity.
Anne Marie Kruijs refused to hear crucial witnesses such as the neighbors at the scene, the officers had conflicting statements and yet she throws herself in front of murderers.
Whilst the media had portrayed the case differently and wrongly in the beginning, the narrative is now shifting as the tremendously important evidence comes increasingly to light.
We hope that other groups and organisations will pick up the matter too, to continue the fight for justice for Sammy alongside with his Friends and family back in Germany. This is not just an US problem it is happening here in the Netherlands.
As shown again and again no justice will come from the state of it’s courts. There is no justice as long as there are cops.
